Motorola MT820 in news again!

We have been following the release of at least two China-bound Motorola’s appearing recently in spy shots. We knew there was something up with Motorola and now it seems that we were right too! One of these supposed phones reappeared in much better shots due to which some of the specs were revealed. We are not in dark the way we were a while back regarding these mobiles. Let’s see what Motorola has in store for the Chinese market.

Nokia N8 released officially

The Nokia N8, is Nokia’s latest offering to have been released by the Finnish giant. With stuff like a 12MP camera and 720p video recording, this phone is on its way to becoming the biggest new thing in the mobile world. There are two different TV-out interfaces - the standard 3.5mm audio jack and a mini-HDMI port as well as a Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound over the HDMI link that the camera proudly offers.

Android market surpasses the 50K milestone!

Android has just been around for a little while and the world really has fallen in love with it. The android market is growing by leaps and bounds much to everyone’s surprise and is now about to take over the world. Also the Google OS application distribution service now offers more than 50 000 titles to Android users around the world; more than half of which are free! Now it is being heard that the Android market got nearly 9000 new apps in March alone!

Microsoft Kin One and Two: Specs unveiled

When the Microsoft phones, Kin One and Two came out a while back, not much of the specs were unveiled by Microsoft. A lot was purposely not made known to the general public. But now thanks to the social marketing director John Starkweather and to some extent the German Microsoft Facebook page; we have finally been able to find the missing links and make sense of the overall specs sheet. We now know what major specs both of these phones will be encompassing.

Ulysse Nardin Chairman 2: Luxury with amazing specs!

Last year, for those who remember, a phone came out “Chairman” which was a luxury phone; but it went out of stock too soon. Now it seems that its Swiss maker Ulysse Nardin is working on coming out with its successor. According to the sources, the new Chairman will be equipped with a touchscreen, 8MP camera and some good 32GB worth of storage. Now this I must also mention is not your usual run of the mill sort luxury phone.

First Bluetooth 4.0 devices to come out by the year's end

Bluetooth 3.0 is almost out of the scene now as the new and improved Bluetooth 4.0 is what everybody is waiting for now. It is fairly just like its older version, it builds on the 3.0 but it does add a new low power mode which the older version didn’t have before and so now it can be used by watches, training equipment etc. as well. Bluetooth 3.0 came out with a technology of around 802.11, so it made high-speed transfers possible.

Apple shines again with excellent Q1 results

Apple is the one company which has kept its winning streak consistent. They have been doing exceptionally good of late and that is no secret to anyone. It’s that time of the year when quarter reports by different companies are released and as everyone was expecting Apple has again come out at the top. Revenue of 13.50 billion US dollars was recorded by the company which means a net quarterly profit of 3.07 billion US dollars.

We have been hearing many good things about the T-Mobile Garminfone which is an Android phone coming soon to a dealer near you. Well this is a smartphone which will be equipped with the navigation utility as well! Garmin's navigation solution has been preinstalled in this mobile which supports driving, walking and public transport navigation and can guide you to any place. We have North America maps preloadrd in its 4GB of internal memory as well!

iPhone 4G might be thicker but smarter than the predecessor!

There has been some news, well, leaked pictures, about the up and coming iPhone 4G. According to a website, the alleged prototype device was found inside an old iPhone 3G box. But it has not been developed properly, or is so early in its development stage that it even fails to boot. Not many details have been mentioned on the website about the phone, but a few things can be said about how the phone looks from the outside at least.

HTC , the seemingly small Taiwanese company which has come a long way, held a press conference in South Africa a few days back or so, they announced their next year’s plans in that conference and from the look of it, this next year will see the likes of a hi-fi AV, fast Internet and a tablet! Yes a much action-packed year, to be exact. But we still haven’t heard anything on the in-house OS though which they were going to come up with.

The much discussed LG Surf 4GB has not been announced as yet if you’re wondering why you haven’t heard from the company about it. Well we do not want to break your hopes of having a new LG set in your hand but really, LG Surf 4GB is the Italian name of the LG Cookie Music that was announced recently! And now the LG Surf 4GB (LG Cookie Music) is going to be released in the Italian market any time now.

And we thought Sony Ericsson had gone away from our lives forever. But now it appears that the Swedish-Japanese giant still thrives; and quite successfully so, quite contrary to the market gurus. Their financial report for the first quarter proves that the onetime pioneer in mobile technology still hasn’t lost its magnetism. Whatever their winning tactic is, Sony Ericsson is back in the game and from the looks of it; they’re going to stay for good!

MeeGo 1.0 demonstrated!

MeeGo 1.0 OS has recently been demonstrated in Beijing on four kinds of devices - a netbook, a smartphone, one big TV and a digital coupon machine. It looks really good and it does seem that it will run smoothly, offering rich functionality and simple UI; basically things that every user desires! Out of the four videos the first video shows MeeGo running on Acer Aspire One netbook. The interface has a web browser, media, social integration, applications, games (there is 3D acceleration!), people, zones and settings.

LG GT405 Viewty GT to be available in the UK soon!

We first heard about the new LG GT 405, a.k.a. Viwety GT, a month back or so. We are now hearing good news about it; that it is going to be soon available in at least the UK where it has just been released by one of the operators in the country, namely 3 Mobile. For you we have managed to get all the details that we could of the much awaited phone and from what we are seeing, LG GT 405 Viewty GT is one awesome phone with amazing features.

The Orange Boston comes to town!

The Orange Boston is a smartphone which is being publicized as one of the lowest priced smartphones around at the price of one Euro! Sounds too good to be true and it probably is do too, as usually all smartphones cost this much when bought on a contract. So this could be just another advertising gimmick and nothing more; to get the right amount of attention. The price becomes more unbelievable when you go through the specs sheet and come to know that the Orange Boston is equipped with Android.

Nokia N8, release date pushed to mid July?

Well we have just heard that the much awaited Nokia N8 is probably going to be released somewhere in the mid of July. Yes, we were hoping that it would happen sometime in May or maybe June but apparently they had a different plan. The specs have been circulating ever since the rumours came out but they cannot be denied or confirmed by us as the phone has not been officially launched by Nokia as yet.

Microsoft’s newest entrant in the market, the hugely speculated Pink phone has been spotted recently on the internet and it seems that the video is almost everywhere. Now we are talking about the hugely popular “Turtle” phone that features the portrait sliding QWERTY keyboard and was captured tethered to a laptop. Now the video that is under discussion right now has been made in a coffee shop? Peculiar indeed!

Samsung Android phones to have font changing facility in the future!

It has just been revealed that some future Android powered Samsung phones will be equipped with a function that can really change the way phones are being operated these days. I am talking about a font changing application which will be present in all future Samsung Android phones. Yes, this relates to the text as it is displayed on the mobile screen. One of the devices that might come equipped with this facility is the Samsung Galaxy S which has only recently been revealed.

Windows Mobile phones hit by an international caller virus?!

Windows Mobile phones are lately in trouble as many of the owners have reported some unknown international calls in their calling history!! Now this raises an alarm as there might be a virus/trojan going around that is causing all of this to happen. This virus comes in the shape of a game, called “3D Anti-Terrorist” which loads a trojan onto the handset and is time triggered monthly to spontaneously dial certain international numbers.

Nokia N900 gets Google Chrom(ium)!

Nokia N 900 has only recently been blessed with the mobile version of Mozilla's Firefox web browser, Fennec. Now it seems that they will be getting another high profiled web browser that is the Google Chrome web browser. Nokia N900 users will now be able to enjoy Google Chrome on their Maemo-based smartphones. Nothing has been made official by Google as yet and the browser is still in its early stages.

iPhone OS 4.0 videos leaked!

iPhone OS 4.0, the much awaited version of the iPhone OS version is finally here and as expected the whole internet has now been taken over by videos with its first hand demonstration. These videos give a brief insight into the many new features introduced by the iPhone OS 4.0 and how they are going to perform. You can deduce from the videos that even when the OS is in its beta stage, it turns out to be pretty nice.

Sagem to launch an Android-powered Puma phone in 2011

Sagem and Puma revealed their new phone just a few months back or so and we can tell you this much if nothing more that the Puma Phone 2 is now in its finishing stages. The best thing apparently about this is that it will be equipped with the Android OS. Now the next-generation Puma Phone will most probably be compatible with news and social networking, thus making it more valuable. It is also being expected that the new Puma phone will be much more compatible than the current one.

Google Maps 4.0(with voice navigation) for BlackBerry available!

It seems that once a luxury, Google Maps is something that most mobile phones now come equipped with more or less. Now the well-known maps are also available for BlackBerry and the good thing is that Google also brings voice search, Buzz as well as other improvements to the application, making it all the more exciting now. This feature is well integrated into the Android platform, but with Google Maps 4.0 for BlackBerry you can get this only on the RIM handsets.

REVIEW: Sony Ericsson Elm

This is a different set as in it’s a bit peculiar in its own way. And it will be a bit difficult for Sony Ericsson El to find its niche in a market consumed with smartphones. But experts are of the view that they will cater to a different market altogether so yes, there will be people willing to buy them. The Elm is different because it is not equipped with those high-tech specs and it is a pioneer because it’s not cheap just to get the sales graph high.

The LG GD880 Mini was announced at the MWC early this year and now it’s out there for you to grab one for yourself. One thing that you should know is that this is the first feature phone to have come up with an HTML5-compatible web browser. You can also see a preview of this phone that we did some time back but it’s such a remarkable phone that we just can’t get enough of it somehow. LG GD880 Mini is the first phone by LG to have the company's proprietary WebKit-based Phantom Browser.
