January 31st, 2010 - 10:51 pm by Wajiha H.
The very first Android sets were all manufactured by HTC, we all kind of know that. Android phones were its child, so much so that they the Taiwanese based firm was controlling as much as 64.5% of the Android pie by the end of 2009. RAZR was the one model that is synonymous with Motorola and it is now a tale of yesteryear as well all know. The company was definitely in need of a new model, a new story.

iPhone gets VoIP over 3G networks

January 31st, 2010 - 10:48 pm by Wajiha H.
iPhone has never been very good with VoIP. You can get VoIP apps but only through Wi-Fi which if you really think about it is quite limiting. VoIP apps usually offer free calls between two users running the app, but in case of cheap international calls you're limited to only a few locations in which you can make and receive such calls as it’s available only through Wi-Fi. Now as we all know Apple is known to make things easier for its users due to which it has also lifted this Wi-Fi-only restriction.

Pressure-sensitive touchscreens anyone?!

January 31st, 2010 - 10:48 pm by Wajiha H.
Touch screens are all the rage these days. We all would prefer a touchscreen device any time as opposed to a non touch one. They are here to stay, no doubt about that but manufacturers are currently trying to come out with better versions for richer user experience. The area lately grabbing their attention is the screen itself and the way it responds to our touches. Many researches have concluded that resistive screens have often been found out to be more accurate than the capacitative ones.

January 31st, 2010 - 10:47 pm by Wajiha H.
People are talking a lot about solar energy and its benefits these days, and we think they are right too more often than not. Where did the sun come in from?!

Set MP3 ringtones on the latest HTC Touch2 update now!

January 31st, 2010 - 10:46 pm by Wajiha H.
Ringtones are things that we keep changing over the course of time that we have a mobile with us. But if you have to buy these very ringtones, they actually leave a huge dent on your pocket. Then the worst thing is that you like a song, you decide to ‘buy’ its ringtone and you find out that the tone was completely different from what you had in mind. Yes that happens a lot but unfortunately at that time there is no going back as the investment has already been made.

No Zune phone after all; says Microsoft!

January 31st, 2010 - 10:45 pm by Wajiha H.
We all wanted these Zune phone rumors to be real, not really knowing why or without any real reason. It all started when a Wall Street analyst of Jeffries and Co. mentioned that Microsoft was all set to launch their own phone, of course Zune-based, and this was going to happen very soon, either at the Mobile World Conference or CTIA in Vegas. Now of course everyone started almost dreaming about this new Zune based phone.

Apple Q4 financial report released!

January 28th, 2010 - 10:55 pm by Wajiha H.
Apple remained unbeatable last year and the Q4 report proves just that. The report shows that the company made revenue of 15.68 billion US dollars and a net quarterly profit of 3.38 billion US dollars, which when compared to the figures of the same period in 2008, (11.88 billion and 2.26 billion respectively), show a drastic jump upwards! Now iPhones remain Apple's main forte; this shows in the fact that almost 8.7 million iPhones were sold in the last quarter of 2009 which is much more than the phones sold in Q4 of 2008.

Motorola MOTOSPLIT: Cool weirdness?

January 28th, 2010 - 10:54 pm by Wajiha H.
We recently reviewed Motorola BLACKFLIP, which is as weird as anything possible. This new phone Motorola MOTOSPLIT is funny too which proves that Motorola is now undergoing a major “shape change” process. Meet Motorola MOTOSPLIT which runs on Android OS and bears a strong resemblance to Nokia 6800 and the likes. It comes with a split QWERTY, a thing only seen in the initial days of the QWERTY phenomena. Remember Nokia 5510? It came with a split QWERTY bar but due to its unique shape, never quite became a mainstream mobile phone.

But as far as rumours are to be believed, there wait seems to be fruitful. It seems that the T-Mobile will get an upgraded version of the device packing 576MB RAM and 1GB ROM. Another 167M euro loss for Sony Ericsson; X10 the only hope

January 26th, 2010 - 10:48 pm by Wajiha H.
Sony Ericsson has yet suffered from a losing quarter at the end of 2009. They did sell at least half a million handsets more than they did in the Q4 of 2008; but still scored a loss of 167 million euro. The average selling price of the Sony Ericsson devices was increased to 120 euro during the holiday season. Similarly the number of units sold increased to 14.6 million. XPERIA X2 and XPERIA X10 hit the markets quite late or these numbers could’ve been different in a positive way that is.

Lenovo LePhone to be launched in China initially!

January 26th, 2010 - 10:47 pm by Wajiha H.
Lephone is Lenovo’s second Android phone and is going to be launched nowhere but China in a couple of months or so. The beauty of this set is the fact that all of its specs resemble those of the Nexus One. For example a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 3.7" AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with WVGA resolution, Wi-Fi, GPS etc. but the phone has a camera of just 3MP, which is disappointing. Then the phone is thin as well, not more than a mere 12mm.
