NVIDIA's CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang has recently announced that some Android phones running Tegra 2 might be gracing the mobile phones industry by the end of the year although he didn’t say much about which companies would be behind them. Out of those expected handsets one might be manufactured by none other than Apple. He also said that most probably the second-generation Tegra will be amalgamated with the third-generation Android for maximum success.
Not many a time NVIDIA has spoken about Android for Tegra as the only two phones powered by the Tegra as yet are Microsoft’s Kin One and Kin Two. But the thing to be considered here is that this is the first generation Tegra that we are essentially talking about. NVIDIA has taken special measures so that the second generation is more Android-friendly as that is where their focus now is.

Apple might have a thing or two to be worried about as according to rumours the new Tegra processor will be following in the footsteps of Apple's A4 platform. Even when not a lot was said about the possible manufacturers of the handsets, we do hear that the next Android tablet/netbook might be based on Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core ARM Cortex A9 CPU with 1080p video decoding support. All we have to do is to keep our fingers crossed and wait for any official news from the company to reach us!
