HTC to get Froyo upgrade soonMay 23rd, 2010 - 11:36 pm by Wajiha H.
The Android 2.2 Froyo has been announced but the only confirmed set to be getting the update is Google’s own, Nexus One. Of course this is one update that all Android users would do anything in the world to get! But it seems that HTC smartphones will be amongst the luckier ones as it is now being heard that all HTC beauties released in 2010 will soon be getting the much loved Froyo update; probably by the end of this year!
![]() The official statement just confirms four devices, Desire, Droid Incredible, Evo 4G and MyTouch Slide but we do hope that HTC Legend and Hero will soon follow as these are also among the more popular HTC devices. Now as much disappointing as it seems, there is a specific size of ROM that is required to accommodate this new upgrade which not many handsets come equipped with. Due to the same reason it seems that sets like T-Mobile G1 and HTC Dream cannot get the Froyo upgrade. There hasn’t been any official release date by the company as yet but they would announce the complete list of smartphones to be getting the upgrade together with accurate launching dates by the end of this year. According to another statement their sole aim is to provide a complete and solid Sense experience on Froyo for Android handset owners.
