Android 2.2 Froyo already ported to Nexus OneMay 23rd, 2010 - 11:56 pm by Wajiha H.
Ok since we are on the subject of Android Froyo today; I have just come to know of some rumours according to which Froyo 2.2 has already been ported to the Nexus One and the HTC Droid Eris. Too hard to believe I know but it has been heard that Androidiani.com (an Italian website) has managed to get the files you need to port Froyo 2.2 onto your Nexus One and they have put them up on their website for downloading too!
But it has also been reported that once ported, it is quite unstable and susceptible to crash soon. There has been a lot of talk on the XDA-Developers forums on how Android Froyo 2.2 can work on other smartphones too. Well peoplee who are too anxious for the upgrade can now download the SDK to see how the Android Froyo 2.2 will work on their smartphone!
It is a bit sad that while owners of some smartphones like Nexus One are waiting for Android Froyo 2.2, some other smartphone owners are still waiting for the Android Éclair 2.1 e.g. HTC Hero. Sad indeed!
The new Android Froyo upgrade which is being impatiently awaited by many, will be available for Nexus One at least by the end of this year. Other phones like the HTC etc. will soon have the upgrade too. But other manufacturers might have to wait for a while since there is a specific size of ROM that the set should have in order to have the Android Froyo 2.2 upgrade!
