We are proud to announce that the Samsung S8500 Wave has lately become the world's first DivX Certified for HD phone with the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S close behind. Also, the Samsung Wave which was first available in the German online stores as reported by us sometime back is now available in the UK too, but for preorder. So what’s the hype surrounding the Samsung S8500 Wave? Well basically it happens to be the first handset to bring two exciting new products from Samsung, that too together.

The products are Bada OS and the Super AMOLED screen. Now we can add the DivX HD certification to its credit too. We can expect this certificate in the recently announced Samsung I9000 Galaxy S sometime soon too. But it will be a while before the phone is available in the market. The Galaxy S features Android 2.1, a Super AMOLED screen too which is around 4" as compared to the 3.3" screen of the Wave.

Other features of the phone are 5-megapixel cameras capable of capturing 720p video and are best for connectivity purposes as they both have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 3.0.

The Samsung S8500 Wave was first available at a few German online stores but recently we have spotted it in a UK store too. You can preorder it for 339 pounds (380 euro). It is expected to be released on May 17.
