Palm gets Unreal Engine 3 gamesMarch 17th, 2010 - 11:28 pm by Wajiha H.
Palm together with Epic Games is coming up with the Unreal Engine 3 up; in fact they have only recently demonstrated it too. The game developers have already a free access to it and from the looks of it; this is going to be one amazing ‘unreal’ game experience. This was demonstrated during the recent Game Developer Conference (GDC) and both the companies succeeded in making an impression with getting the Unreal Engine 3 running under Palm's webOS.
The graphics and special effects are depicted very vividly in the video below and it seems that whoever uses it will definitely enjoy the sheer experience of it. The Plug-In Development Kit (PDK) was also released by Palm earlier this week, which specifically targets the game developers.
If you are a game developer you can download the Unreal Development Kit right now and start building games with Unreal Engine 3. With the Palm's PDK available we can expect a lot of promising products in the near future. You can also port iPhone games to the webOS with the help of the Palm's Plug-In Development System (PDK).
This webOs update won’t be giving a lot of such mixed apps probably but with the advent of the next webOS update, this could very well be possible.
