Opera Mini for iPhone was first seen in the MWC early this year. It was even demoed by the company and now it is only waiting for an approval before it is finally launched by the company. Appstore has it now and you will be able to enjoy it absolutely for free once it approves the application as it definitely seems ready.
iPhone
The first tests that have been done on the browser actually prove that it's up to six times faster than iPhone's own browser, the Safari. One of the reasons could be that Opera Mini servers compress data by up to 90 percent before they serve the mobile web browser the pages.

Now many people don’t get what significance data crunching can have. Basically it means lowering your monthly bills and Opera Mini web browser used on over 50 million phones worldwide. So you can well imagine the utility that it must have.

Now Opera has done its job, prepared the browser and handed it over to the Appstore, it is up to Apple now to decide if the Opera Mini for iPhone will eventually land on the phone itself. We’re guessing that it should be announced in a couple of days or so, not more than that. Anyway we will keep you posted on the latest developments as soon as we get them.
