The Nokia Nuron, or the Nokia 5230 is bringing free voice-guided navigation along with itand will be available from T-Mobile in a matter of weeks now. This is a 3G-enabled handset and is the first carrier-supported device to come with the new and free Ovi Maps preinstalled. People who have seen the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will automatically see the connection in design. Though there are some differences like it does not have Wi-Fi and is equipped with a 2MP camera.

There is an upside though. There is a huge price difference that we can expect here. We have a built-in GPS receiver coupled with the latest Ovi Maps that offers free voice-guided navigation. Ovi Maps can be used without a data plan as it does not download the map data over the Internet.

The USA, Canada and Mexico will have their maps preloaded on the phone and you can further download maps of as much as 180 countries and that too free of charge. You will also get the Lonely Planet guides along with the Ovi maps. Ovi Store will also be preloaded on the device and for simplified payment, T-Mobile plans to enable users to charge items to their monthly bill or their credit card.

You will be able to get the Nokia 5230 within the next few weeks but select retail stores and through the T-Mobile USA website.
