Despite all the troubles that Apple created for Google, it seems Android is still going strong. For those who do not know much about this all, a while back Apple filed a series of patent-infringement suits against HTC, maker of Google's Nexus One, claiming infringement on 20 patents covering elements of its user interface, internal architecture and hardware. HTC however denied these charges and it also expects that the search giant will support the Taiwanese company in this case.
Google vs Apple
According to Peter Chou, HTC’s chief executive "Nothing has changed. We're confident in our position." Android, a key smartphone OS continues to gain much recognition despite the friction between Google and Apple. According to Steve Walker, Sony Ericsson's vice president of handset portfolio. "It hasn't given us any reason to change our strategy," They will continue to make handsets which make use of the Android technology.

LG, is also of the view that it wouldn’t change its business strategy this soon as Android is too good an OS to be ignored. "At this stage, it's not affecting our business," said Ehtisham Rabbani, LG's vice president of marketing.

Many insiders do not see Apple's lawsuit to have much of an effect over the prospects of Android at least as lawsuits are very much a part and parcel of this industry.

Google has only recently released new versions of the Nexus One that run on the 3G networks of AT&T and Sprint. They are also planning to release a version for Verizon later this year.
