The latest survey that we are about to state here is all about App stores. Some things that it discloses are hardly surprising; like the fact that the Apple App Store is on top whereas the others leave us in doubt about the credibility of the survey like the fact that the carrier app stores are still going strong when device-specific app store are now apparently all the rage. This survey has been conducted by Nielsen and it's based on the findings in the US only.
App store
It consists of three charts. The first chart shows the average number of apps installed - feature phones vs. smartphones and the individual OSes head to head. According to this chart, Smartphones users download more than twice as many apps as feature phones users. Also according to it, the iPhone OS is at the top with Android and BlackBerry at the bottom!!

The second chart depicts the app store market share according to which Carrier-operated stores are still going strong although we’re quite doubtful about this.

The third chart deals with customer satisfaction and it shows iPhone OS on top with Android closely coming in second. Then we have the carrier stores with above average satisfaction and again at the bottom we have the BlackBerry App World and the Windows Marketplace. So yes, Apple still rules!
