Now it is being predicted that the smartphone market will have a lot to look forward to this year as an increase of around 38% is expected for smartphones shipments as compared to last year. RIM still rules, even the estimates, as the company is expected to lead the market with an estimated 43% market share for 2010. Their loss that is around 6.2% market is negligible as the total number of shipments will increase.
Second in line is Apple, whose total market share is also going to decrease but then it will be compensated by the total increase in numbers too. Now as far as the smartphone OS is concerned, BlackBerry, Apple and Android OS steal the show by having at least 80% of the total smartphone market in the US.

And this brings us to the topic; Android is predicted have an extremely good time this year almost to the extent of doubling last year’s share. Also this survey shows that the number of Android phones sold will be more than that of Microsoft, Palm and Symbian combined. The increase in this number will eventually mean that the vendors will have to make phones more efficient in their data usage; aka in line with BlackBerry.

Android has hit everywhere, even our site has been reviewing Android phones for long now and every other news that we give is related to Android somehow or the other.
