Motorola QUENCH; runs on Android but without QWERTYFebruary 16th, 2010 - 11:49 pm by Wajiha H.
We have seen touchscreens but with QWERTY, thus enabling you to turn them into a normal phone wherever you want to. Motorola QUENCH a.k.a CLIQ XT makes an exception though. This is a pure unadulterated touchscreen, made for the real touchscreen lovers. It is more like a Motorola DEXT (CLIQ) but without a QWERTY, runs on Android, with the MOTOBLUR UI. So it is a compilation of several phones, if you may. Motorola QUENCH integrates Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail and others to sync contacts and receive posts, messages and photos.

Swype uses finger-sweeps on an on-screen QWERTY keyboard instead of taps; it is a keyboard on the touchscreen. There are videos of it available easily on the net for you to see. Everything in the phone is similar to what you would expect from a typical Android-powered touchscreen bar; a 3.1" HVGA screen, Android 1.5, Android Market and Google Search integration, quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band 3G with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. For connectivity purposes it has Wi-Fi, a built-in GPS receiver with A-GPS and turn-by-turn navigation, and Bluetooth with A2DP. The browser is equipped with pinch-zooming and YouTube integration; you have enhanced in-call quality with the help of dual microphones for noise cancellation. It has a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera with LED flash. It is being expected that the Motorola QUENCH will be hit the markets somewhere in the first quarter of this year and in the US it gets released next month on T-Mobile as Motorola CLIQ XT.
