Just like every other company the financial results of the last quarter (2009) of LG are also out. The results are just perfect and they are really having a nice time as the company has recorded their highest Q4 earnings ever, beating their previous best by around 7 percent. The sales were around 12.2 billion US dollars, whereas the operating profit has risen to 382 million dollars. LG’s star is surely on the rise right now.
![]() Their mobile division has shown a great improvement as they have sold around 32 percent more mobile phones when you compare to the figures of Q4 (2008). The total number of units shipped by the company total 33.9 million units; which eventually means that LG now enjoys a global market share of around 11.3 percent. This share conveniently reconfirms its status as the world's third largest phone manufacturer. A thing LG wanted for so long. But everything is not as flowery as it sounds as it has also been mentioned that the reported mobile phone sales totaled 3.3 billion US dollars, which when compared to the Q4 (2008), means a 5 percent decrease. The net profit of the company was 57 million dollars, which means that the company got a margin of a mere 1.7 percent. LG is more welcomed in North America, Europe and almost all of the emerging markets; which is why the current target of unit sales is a further 19 percent increase upto 140 million in 2010.
