Acer has been doing it pretty well at the MWC as they have managed to launch not one, not two but a total of five handsets during the course of it. Three have Android as an OS and two WinMo 6.5.3. These are Acer beTouch E400 (Android 2.1), Acer beTouch E110( Android 1.5), Acer neoTouch P400 (Windows Mobile), Acer neoTouch P300(Windows Mobile), Acer Liquid e (updated Android version). Let’s read a little bit about each and every one of these sets to accustom ourselves with them.
Acer Smartphones
1. Acer beTouch E400: Acer beTouch E400 runs on Android 2.1 Eclair on a Qualcomm 7227 600MHz CPU, measures 115 x 59.3 x 12 mm, weighs 120 grams and comes with a 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot. For connectivity purposes there are a quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band 3G with HSDPA/HSUPA. 3.2-inches of display, has DocumentsToGo preinstalled (for office document viewing and editing) and the rumoured nemoPlayer. It will be available for customers in around April.
2. Acer beTouch E110: A smaller version of the Acer beTouch E110, it comes with a 2.8" QVGA screen, the CPU runs at 416MHz with 256MB RAM, and the Android version is 1.5. It is equipped with a 3.2MP camera, GPS, Bluetooth, microSD card slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack, but there's no Wi-Fi which could be a deal breaker. For connectivity we have dual-band 3G and the battery is 1500mAh. The Acer beTouch E110 will be hitting the market in March.
3. Acer neoTouch P400: It runs on Windows Mobile 6.5.3. It is equipped with a screen of 3.2" HVGA unit, quad-band GSM/EDGE, tri-band 3G, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth, GPS, microSD card slot and a 3.5mm audio jack. Camera is of 3.2MP and it also has Windows Office, goes without saying. Acer neoTouch P400 will probably be launched in May.
4. Acer neoTouch P300: The P300 is blessed with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3.2" WQVGA screen and Wi-Fi. Connectivity is good, it has everything from quad-band GSM/EDGE and 7.2Mbps HSDPA-enabled 3G, to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS of course. There's a 3.5mm audio jack and a microSD card slot too. The Acer neoTouch P300 will be available in March.
5. Acer Liquid e: The only thing different from its predecessor Acer Liquid is the updated version of the OS; nothing else.
