3G customers worldwide continue to increase!

For those who might have forgotten, 3G network was initially launched by the Japanese mobile operator NTT DOCOMO, some eight years ago or so; a network which now boasts a total of around 500 million customers, all around the world. Now not many will be able to get the significance of what we are trying to say here, so for them I must mention that over a decade was taken by 2G mobile networks to reach that number of customers. So definitely it is something to rejoice!
3G reaches 5 million mark
Let me give you some more details about this particular matter, there are over 300 UMTS networks all around the world and among them there are more than 35 HSPA networks with over 200 million customers. Now with the 3G figures as stated above, nearly 40% of the 3G subscribers can also take advantage of the much higher data transfer speeds which is only made possible by the HSPA technology.

But this is just 3G; we have yet to see 4G and its achievements which are yet to begin. Speaking of which, TeliaSonera has just launched the first commercially available LTE network a few months back and it is predicted that by the year 2012 there will be at least 40 more worldwide. Ah! A lucky world will that be!
