No Zune phone after all; says Microsoft!January 31st, 2010 - 11:45 pm by Wajiha H.
We all wanted these Zune phone rumors to be real, not really knowing why or without any real reason. It all started when a Wall Street analyst of Jeffries and Co. mentioned that Microsoft was all set to launch their own phone, of course Zune-based, and this was going to happen very soon, either at the Mobile World Conference or CTIA in Vegas. Now of course everyone started almost dreaming about this new Zune based phone.
![]() The usual started happening, we got supposed pictures of it on the net, newest Zune software update was released, and the code had references to three phone device drivers. Of course everyone got excited and a great deal at that. Microsoft could see all this happening and now they have released an official statement with Neowin stating, "We have no plans to create a Zune phone." Many are saying though that the perhaps the whole Zune thing is going to be ported over to Windows Mobile 7, and a specific Microsoft-branded phone only to support Zune is not in the picture, at least not anywhere near. But we know people, and we know rumours, even when Microsoft has declared that there isn’t going to be any Zune-based phone from the company, people will talk for a long time to come!
