It is being heard now that the world’s fastest 3G network will soon be launched by 3Scandinavia and Ericsson. Data transfer speeds will rise abruptly from the current 21Mbps to 84Mbps, which is literally huge. One significant news that it can have a link with is the fact that TeliaSonera's has only recently introduced the commercially available LTE/4G networks in Scandinavia. TeliaSonera have promised that their speeds will reach 100Mbps soon, which creates a greater interest but we need to understand that this is an LTE network which will be accessed by people in selected cities only.

It is being expected that 3 Scandinavia, on the other hand, will be spreading their 84Mbps HSPA network in various other cities in Europe. Ericsson of course will be the technical help to do so. We should expect this somewhere in the first quarter of 2010.

These are modern networks that we are talking about here and none of these are compatible with mobile phones right now. So this will take some time to adjust. Now another thing, we are sure that this mobile broadband is not meant for mobile phones only and will extend to laptops too.
