Review: BlackBerry Bold 9700

There are a lot of high expectations about the new Blackberry Bold 9700, as with a big name, come huge expectations. When you upgrade a phone of Blackberry’s standard, you just improve upon some mistakes; you improve completely so much so that it’s visible. iPhone usually does that and people don’t notice it much but for companies other than Apple, a lot of effort has to be put into it. They just can’t come out with just anything and get away with that.

So some of the very noticeable features of this phone are a comfortable four-row full QWERTY keyboard, Quad-band GSM support and tri-band 3G with HSDPA, Wi-Fi and built-in GPS and BlackBerry maps preloaded, 3.15 autofocus megapixel camera, LED flash, BlackBerry OS v5, Responsive trackpad navigation, Hot-swappable microSD card slot (up to 16GB), DivX and XviD video support, Good web browser, Office document editor, 3.5 mm audio jack, Decent audio quality, Smart dialing, Great battery life, More compact body and lighter weight compared to the Bold 9000, Good build quality.

Now I think you all can understand the motive with which the Blackberry Bold is being prepared. It just cashed in on the success that the Blackberry name brings to them and instead of brining out a whole new thing that thought about optimization instead. And then Blackberry is one of those sets which are considered awesome by their users.

But the company should keep in mind that no important feature should be given up just to fit the compact package. In this small smartphone market there is not a lot of mistakes that can be done by small companies.
