Opera Mobile 10 will now be able to run on Android and BREW!December 13th, 2009 - 11:52 pm by Wajiha H.
With the name Opera the first thing that comes to mind is desktop browsers but what most people don’t know about them is that they are very if not equally strong in the mobiles world as well. They are all set to introduce the new Opera Mobile version 10 for Android and the BREW platform. Opera Mobile 10 has already been launched but only in the beta form for Windows Mobile and for Symbian and the feature phone favorite Opera Mini 5 beta 2 can be downloaded too.
![]() Only the operators and the OEM’s get the Android and BREW version as the company states the presence of a few complications which can prove to be a hindrance in the mass consumer distribution of these facilities. It is possible that we are bit being given the complete details and it is more about licensing agreements than the platforms capabilities. Opera Mobile 10 and Opera Mini 5 look exactly alike; if you don’t believe this you can check out the screenshots, they are too identical. It doesn’t mean a whole lot to the users who do not know a lot about the difference between the two but for carriers and OEMs, it will definitely simplify customer support. It is exciting news nonetheless that Opera Mobile has finally come to Android - especially if it sports the Turbo mode. There already is a port of Opera Mini 4.2 for Android but it's not the same - v4.2 as it lacks a lot that the version 5 has.
