Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition supports voice guidance!December 7th, 2009 - 10:57 pm by Wajiha H.
Now to say that we have had GPS navigation before won’t be too fair as Nokia has brought GPS navigation to a whole new level. This new handset has certainly been launched for the common people who want to get a phone on budget. This S40 handset supports Nokia Maps and a lifetime navigation license and it won’t burn too! It is basically a very simple phone with not a lot of high-end features so to say but one thing is for sure this mobile screams class.
![]() The screen of the Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition is just 2.2 inches and has QVGA resolution; not much different from the Nokia 6210 Navigator which has a display of 2.4" QVGA display. If we ignore the small screen size and focus on the other qualities of the handset, we will find that the handset boasts many. It comes with a built-in GPS receiver and A-GPS support, lifetime voice-guided drive and walk navigation via Nokia Maps, car holder in the box (in select markets) and a specific keyboard key to launch the navigation software. It has Nokia Maps 2.1 for S40but of course with only a few preloaded local maps, you can get some more with the Map Loader as well. There is no digital compass which leaves a bad taste in mouth. The Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition has a size of around 111.2 x 45.7 x 13.7 mm and weight of 87 grams. It will be exported to the US somewhere in the mid of 2010 for a price of around 110 euro (162 US dollars), which is really cheap as far as voice guided navigation guides are concerned. Many people are already calling it a failure in the US as they have Google Maps Navigation for Android around. Now that leaves us to the question as to why this phone even had to be developed. The answer is pretty simple, because they were targeting the developing countries. Source Related ArticlesRelated articles to Nokia 2710 Navigation Edition supports voice guidance!.
