Motorola XT800, XT701 and MT710 coming to ChinaDecember 21st, 2009 - 11:45 pm by Wajiha H.
Motorola is on its way to release three very identical Android-powered handsets in China, and Motorola has gotten it all set as each one of these will be released by a different Chinese mobile service provider; needless to say all of three service providers chosen are at the top of their game. These phones are the Motorola XT800, XT701 and MT710. Basic features that they come with are touchscreen bar form factor and a 3.7" touchscreen displays with 854 x 480 pixels resolution, matching the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 and Motorola MILESTONE.
![]() Apart from this they have the usual 5MP cameras, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS support, a microSD card slot and FM Radio. • Lets start with one by one, the first one is the Motorola XT800 for China Telecom. It's a bit more peculiar as it has an HDMI connector and can play 720p videos. It is still not known whether or not it is good enough to make 720p video recording like the HTC Bravo promises. Now as far as 3G goes, China Telecom has only recently got a CDMA license and needless to say, it runs on CDMA. • Next is the Motorola XT701, which also runs on snapdragon Android 2.0 as well; this is going to be handed over to China Unicom. Main features are its 3G support with HSDPA/HSUPA and accelerometer and ambient light sensors. Of course much more than this must be available but maybe we should save it for sometime else! • O phone is what our next phone is all about; we have all head of iPhonem, but this Ophone is something new. Meet the Motorola MT710 up for for China Mobile. It supports TV CMMB (a China-developed mobile TV standard) and TD-SCDMA 3G (China sure loves to homebrew technology). We are not much sure about the cost and target availability but we can say this much that things are going to take time in the full development.
