Samsung will stick to Symbian and WinMoNovember 17th, 2009 - 11:28 pm by Wajiha H.
Samsung has come out with Bada OS lately and it didn’t seem to be as much of a bad deal for the company as it was being touted by the gurus. Meaning the Samsung Symbian / WinMo portfolio thing wasn’t that bad a deal for the company. The company has specifically denied all the claims made by HMC Investment Securities about trying to make Android and Bada as their operation systems in the foreseeable future.
![]() According to the official statement Samsung is all for supporting multiple open operating systems and is not seeing any change in the said policy in the near future. The reason for this is the belief that a variety of operating systems give users a reasonable choice of rich mobile content and applications. So in order to continue giving that choice to their customers Samsung doesn’t plan to discontinue this policy anytime soon and will definitely go on with their multi- OS strategy. Now not many people know of the fact that Samsung was a pioneer member of Symbian Foundation, due to which its association with the OS is almost unquestionable. Then Windows Mobile is also an old and time-honored operating system with a solid market following, of course Samsung would never want to do away with that in any way possible. Due to which we can conclude that the company will keep on working with both the systems so that a great range of smart phones is available to the customers in the coming years. Samsung is going to stay in the playground being the only company that comes out with quality phones consisting of both the Operating Systems.
