The Samsung Omnia II will soon be available in the US by Verizon and seems to be equipped with a remarkable feature which comes standard on the handset, the device's Swype-powered "Genius Texting." The technology has been originally developed by the inventor of T9 predictive texting capability and it gives the user a new and improved way to input text using an touchscreen QWERTY keyboard. What happens is that you just have to slide your finger from one letter to the next and the device automatically figures out what the user is trying to write.

For example, spelling "dog" appears to be an upside-down "v" on a standard QWERTY keyboard. Of course, the option to tap messages is also available. This thing is new, due to which users might have a little trouble adjusting to it so it will definitely be interesting to find out exactly how many users will adapt to it. The Samsung Omnia II will be launched with Verizon on December 2 for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate Source |
