The Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica, also known as the Galaxy Lite by some has hit the markets and has some awesome features that it could be proud of. Apart from everything else this is the pioneer Android phone to have come up with DivX support and the DNSe 2.0 sound engine both. The Android version supported by the Samsung Galaxy Spica is v1.5 also known to many as the Cupcake version. Now of course there are a few things that are not present in this Lite edition of Galaxy as compared to the original version.
![]() We’ll give you some examples like for instances TFT instead of AMOLED screen, the 8GB built-in storage is not there and the camera is of a mere 3 MP instead of the 5 MP thing in the predecessor. Of course there is some good news as well like the Lite version has an 800MHz CPU, which is a very fast CPU amongst the Android sets and then it comes at an affordable price, which is the most fascinating thing of all actually. Many things present in the predecessor have also been carried over to this set like the Wi-Fi, GPS, and tight integration with Google services (Gmail, Market, etc.), 3.5mm audio jack and a 1,500mAh battery. Now the main thing, the DivX support which is a highlight of this set and has been a great thing for people who really do not feel like transcoding videos. The Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica or the the Galaxy Lite, if you may, has officially hit the markets as of yet all around Europe, Asia and the Middle East. There are many carriers offering this set which should be available very soon on their websites as well. O2 Ireland has signed a deal with Samsung to be the official carrier of Galaxy Spica in Ireland but still hasn’t put it up on their website as yet.
