Nokia is finally out with four brand new handsets, which were being awaited for so long now. Nokia 1616, Nokia 1800, Nokia 2220 slide and Nokia 2690 are really quite simple sets, nothing fancy about them and they mainly cater to the lower class. Let’s just say that it is a good deal for any person who cannot afford much but wants to get a phone for himself. For example the Nokia 2690 has a VGA camera, built-in stereo FM radio with RDS and a 3.5mm standard audio jack. Local connectivity options include Bluetooth and microUSB.
![]() Nokia 2690 comes with a 1.8" 262K-colors TFT LCD display with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels and in the beginning it is going to be available in around four colours that is Graphite, White silver, Hot pink and Blue color version. It will be launched in the first quarter of the year 2010 according to the rumours at a price of around 54 euros. The next one is the gorgeous Nokia 2220 slide which is blessed with an FM radio, VGA camera and EDGE support. The model that is on display shows at least up to 65K colors with a resolution of 128 x 160 pixels. The handset will be coming in six colors namely Hot Pink, Graphite, Turquoise, Warm Silver, Purple and Blue. It will be available in the markets at the year end at a price of around 45 euro before taxes and subsides. Then there are some other sets like Nokia 1800 and Nokia 1616 both of which have 65K color LCD displays with 128 x 160 pixels resolution. Now both of these handsets offer LED flashlights and easy design customization as they are blessed with exchangeable color covers. Nokia 1616 has a 3.5mm standard audio jack, whereas the Nokia 1800 has FM radio which means easy and convenient access to your music. Also the box in which this set comes is fully recyclable, and the material with which the mobile’s surface has been made is totally nickel-free which adds to its ec-friendliness. Nokia 1616 will be available in Black, Dark Blue, Dark Gray and Dark Red colors. The company wants to be able to come out with the set as early as Q1 next year. The price is the best part as it is being said that the set is going to be available for 24 euro before taxes.
