HP iPAQ Glisten smartphone to be finally offered by AT&T

It was announced today by HP that the brand new Smartphone HP iPAQ Glisten will soon be launched by AT&T. With this phone, AT &T also enter the highly exclusive AMOLED(INFO) touchscreen world. This beautiful smartphone comes with full QWERTY keyboard and whereas the browser remains Internet Explorer 6, but in a much better version, according to the critics as it has Adobe Flash support as a built-in feature and AT&T's 3G network will be used as an internet connection.

There are many other features in the phone that will be enjoyed by the users, for example, presence of the Microsoft Office Mobile document readers, a PDF viewer, and an integrated inbox that combines email, text messages, and call history and opens everything on a single screen. iPAQ Glisten comes with a strong speakerphone featuring Voice Commander, a latest application that not only accommodates voice dialing, but can also read email and text messages aloud to the user, in addition to announcing calendar appointments.

Facebook lovers will definitely find this very handset very useful as there is a pre-installed Facebook app on the phone, keeping in mind the ever growing popularity of it. HP even includes its own HP Photosmart photo editing software to back up the Glisten has a small 3.1 megapixel camera but HP has its own Photosmart photo editing software to back it up.

AT & T will make the HP iPAQ Glisten available in the coming weeks through AT&T business channels, HP corporate sales, and select third party retailers. It is being said that the price of this set will be somewhere around $179.99 for a 2 year agreement, after a $50 rebate in the form of a debit card.

This phone, the AT&T version of the iPAQ Glisten, also features a dual-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band UMTS support for AT&T's network. Other versions compatible with networks based outside of the U.S. will also be available from HP sometime very soon.
