It was announced today by Emblaze Mobile that they will soon be launching their new smartphone ELSE, the specialty of which is that it runs on a relatively unknown OS, Access Linux Platform (ALP). The mobile has approximately taken almost two years to totally come into the shape that it is, but the end result is magnificent to say but the least. It is being said that the CPU and graphics accelerator used by ELSE will be very similar to its popular rivals like iPhone 3GS, Nokia N900 and Samsung i8910 Omnia HD.

It will also be having a decent 3.5" capacitive LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels which is definitely attractive enough to lure people into buying the handset. The camera is not out of this world, just a simple The 5-megapixel but can capture a 480p video at 30fps. Now the OS, Access Linux Platform (ALP) 3 is something that it runs on and I am perfectly sure that not many of you might have heard of it. the special thing about this OS is that it is LiMo compliant and can support classic Palm OS and Java apps very easily. The handset also boasts of a new UI called ELSE Intuition.

So according to this brand new user interface, you can look beyond the traditional concept of a Main Menu and can do everything with a single thumb Touch, Slide & Release action. The concept is called sPlay by the company. This new user interface is task-oriented people and is being touted as the next big thing as far as a compatible, comfortable UI is concerned. The company should perhaps look beyond its obvious comparison with the biggies and try to rely on its own.

It is being said that the mobile is going to be available sometime in the second quarter of 2010; price however hasn’t been announced as yet.
