Those who were around when Dell tried to break in the PocketPC business several years ago must know what a disaster they were at that. But the laptop manufacturer is ready to try their luck again; only this time they’re going to be doing a much wider and a rather unexpected field. Dell has made it official only recently that they will soon be producing a new range of smartphones under the brand name Dell Mini 3.

Dell has a tendency of naming its books according to the screen sizes, due to which we are guessing and hoping that are guess is true, that the new Dell smartphones will be equipped with 3 inch screens. The company has not yet come out with any hardware specs due to which we will just resort to some reliable rumours right now. Rumours have always been circulating about Dell coming up with a Smartphone but nothing was known for sure until recently.

The claro network will be the first one to come out with the first 3G-enabled Dell Mini 3 but there quite a lot of chances that you do not know what that is if you haven’t ever lived in America. Claro is an active part of America Móvil, the largest mobile phone network in America. Claro will offer the Dell mini 3 by the end of this year in Brazil.

Dell Mini 3 is a device with a full range of services sold in different configurations and OS options. Dell until recently was refusing to give any more information than this. We do know however that they will all feature touchscreens and will be designed to run on the Android OS. Rest of the details will be given by the company on the announcement of the Dell Mini 3 smartphones. Nothing much can be said about the pricing as well.
