Smart phone market is blooming, and Android is all set on becoming the second most important phone in the market. For Samsung this could very well be achieved by 17500 Galaxy and you can almost be sure of its effectiveness as this happens to be a “Google Experience Phone”. If that’s not enough you have YouTube, Picasa and a shiny 5-megapixel camera integrated in the phone. How convenient can a phone be!

Android like all other Google projects; keeps getting better. So you can be very much sure of the fact that you will be seeing new and improved features on it. The only difference between the I7500 Galaxy and other Samsung phones is perhaps the use of OS, other than that it is very much the same Samsung touchscreen.

Key features include a GSM/GPRS/EDGE support, 3G, Android OS v1.5 (codenamed Cupcake) without customizations, 3.2" capacitive AMOLED touchscreen of HVGA resolution, 5 MP autofocus camera with LED flash, geo-tagging, YouTube and Picasa integration, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and GPS receiver, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and turn-to-mute, digital compass for automatic navigation of maps, standard microUSB port for charging and data, microSD card slot with microSDHC support, a memory of around 8GB, Stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), 3.5 mm audio jack.

There have been some criticisms of this mobile as well, first being that it does not have any smart dialing, camera features are a little outdated, there is no video calling, no multi-touch gestures, no Flash support in the web browser, no DVD video support or a third-party application to play that, there is no FM radio and no TV-out port, no voice dialing, no Bluetooth file transfers, no tethering.

Samsung has very intelligently made sure that it matches the phone to the latest Android phones available in the market these days especially HTC Hero. But everything can be tested only when the mobile has been bought actually and not before that.
