Windows Mobile 6.5 reviewOctober 22nd, 2009 - 11:33 pm by Wajiha H.
An OS is the one thing that determines a mobile’s price, so you need to be sure that it is working for you and is worth the price you paid for it. The Windows Mobile 6.5 is now out on many mobiles and a lot of people are using it as well, but how good is it actually? Although an OS review is something not many people go for but this is one special review of an OS which was eagerly awaited for a long time.
![]() As many people have been anticipating, this OS ensures user-friendliness, better browsing and an app store. There are a few mobiles which come equipped with this OS like the Samsung I8000 Omnia II, which has been hugely successful but we have to give the handset some credit for this too. The magnificent hardware; consisting of 3.7" AMOLED display and the fast CPU has a lot to write home about. TouchWiz, another mobile OS has been rather more promising than the WinMo 6.5 in many respects. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 was equipped with it and though the mobile did not do very well, we have to confess, the OS didn’t fail to impress many people who used it. Ok so let’s see, what this OS is made of, and whether or not it fulfills the promises regarding upgrades, that it has made. As far as the initial assessment goes, not a lot can be said about a gigantic overhaul of the whole system. What we've seen so far tells us the massive overhaul has been postponed for the next update maybe. But it is still possible that the new WinMo 7 is equipped with all the good things that were promised. Android, Symbian S60 touch, WebOS and Mac OS X are newer OS’ than WinMo, but much more popular than it. Maybe Microsoft will not be able to pull it off as far as Mobile OS is concerned after all.
