It has been rumored that Sprint is going to cut down the price of the Palm Pre to around $150 i.e. a 50 percent price cut so that it can bag a better market share. The Company has also announced that on the purchase of a new Palm Pre and a two-year contract, the consumers are going to receive a special $100 service credit. This deal ends on October 31st, and people who want to switch from one service provider to another can benefit from it.
![]() In a statement by the company’s spokesman said, "After further internal review today, the offer of a port-in service credit of $100 to new customers who buy the Palm Pre has been pulled, because it was put into the system in error,". When the palm pre was initially launched the set contrary to general perception, was not very well-received by the masses which has pushed the company to cut down its market price. The credit that has been offered by the company is split over the first three bills. Some of the features that made the Palm Pre a good buy were the fact that the Pre is equipped with the Palm's webOS, the replacement for the venerable Palm OS. This is a powerful new multi-tasking operating system which enables you to synchronize a wide variety of data wirelessly with online search services like Google and networking websites like Facebook, as well as Microsoft Exchange. It is equipped with a sliding keyboard as well as a multi-touch-capable 3.1-inch display. 8 GB of on-board storage (7 GB available to users), Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, and a 3.0 megapixel camera with LED flash are the other special features of this phone. The smart phone was officially launched by Sprint, who has added its mobile broadband service EV-DO Rev. A. Also it's available from Bell Canada, who also uses the CDMA standard, so its version has EV-DO as well. Sprint is hoping that the new price cut is going to have a much needed positive impact on the overall sales figure of the smart phone.
