In Milan recently, Samsung officially announced the two newest members of the Corby family – Samsung B5310 CorbyPRO and Samsung B3210 CorbyTXT. Both of these have a trendy and youthful outlook with a good functionality and are bound to gain popularity as soon as they hit the market. They both are equipped with the popular QWERTY keyboard, which targets the younger text prone market. Let’s see what the two individual sets look like.

The Samsung B3210 CorbyTXT is slim and to a great extent looks like a neat candy bar, and unlike the previous two sets this one does not come with a touchscreen. Other things also include a microSD card slot, Bluetooth and USB on board, not forgetting an FM radio and a neat 2 megapixel camera. Samsung B3210 CorbyTXT is also equipped with interchangeable back panels, quite like its predecessor, Samsung S3650 Corby. A much talked about value added feature is the Cartoon UI. And yes, the exact pronunciation is Corby TEXT although the spelling is not followed.

As I am writing this the Samsung B3210 CorbyTXT has already hit the market in Europe and other markets will follow suit very soon. Many people are counting on it to be a pretty affordable handset.

The flagship of this Corby family, the touch screen, QWERTY equipped side-slider Samsung B5310 CorbyPRO, is the one that people are waiting for anxiously. Proudly flaunting features like quad-band GSM, dual band UMTS with 7.2 Mbps HSDPA and Wi-Fi and GPS, it is bound to take the consumers by storm. It sports a 2.8” 16M color QVGA resistive touchscreen and also has the Cartoon UI operation, the camera is of a comfortable 3 megapixel. The very convenient exchangeable battery that has basically become this family’s trademark is very much present in this set as well. Other mentionable stuff is FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth, USB and a 3.5mm standard audio jack. The set is pretty much the same as the rest of them in the family except for the touch screen which pretty much sets it apart.

Samsung B5310 CorbyPRO will be available from November this year according to some resources. Europe as always will be the first one to be supplied with it though!
