O2 is going to release the GSM version of the Palm Pre in Europe very soon that is as soon as mid-October this year. O2 Germany, UK and Ireland websites do have some information about this. Movistar doesn’t say much about this matter even when practically it was the one that should be releasing the Palm Pre in Spain. Many people are of the opinion that maybe it was just because they forgot to put up this important announcement on their website.
Plam Pre

Now it seems that O2 Germany is going to be releasing the Palm Pre first that is October 13th, thus the official release in Europe. Whereas it will be released in the UK after around three days. O2 Ireland has not specified a date but they have released tariff info on their website which means that they to plan to be out with it soon.

Now the much anticipated prices! People in Britain can get their Palm Pre on 30 pounds a month eighteen-month contract for 97 pounds in total, or for free for either 44 or 34 pounds a month. They either have to go with an eighteen or a twenty four month contract respectively. The best thing about these contracts? Their unlimited network data and convenient Wi-Fi access. Now you can either get yourself a Pal Pre directly from O2 stores (including the online store), or through Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U.

If you want to get a Palm Pre in Ireland, you should be ready to spend some more money that is at least 99 euro for the phone with an 18-month contract, 45 euro monthly tariff or for free for 100 euro a month (again 18-month contract). You get the regular Wi-Fi access and unlimited network data. Except for O2 Germany, all of the other countries are offering GSM based phones but even in Germany the sim free phone comes with an extra price which is around 20 euro per month for 24 months!

But whatever you do you should get yourself a good Palm Pre data plan as it is usually not a very good idea to use it without any!
