Motorola has been seeing some tough time in the mobile market lately. Their way to tackle great competition has been to come up with first handset using Google software with easier access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. This handset is the new Motorola Cliq Google Phone. According to the Motorola officials, the new Motorola Cliq comes with a convenient touch screen display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 5.0-megapixel camera.

It also features built-in software that collects contact information from various social networks and email accounts. Motorola was taken over by co-CEO Sanjay Jha August last year; who immediately reorganized its handset unit around Google's Android software, as he was hoping that the partnership with the Internet search giant would help Motorola regain its lost status in the cell phone market. The first phone to be launched under this alliance is the Cliq which is being seen by many as Motorola’s last bet on regaining lost market share from rivals Apple's iPhone and Research In Motion's BlackBerry devices in the fast-growing smartphone market.

The pride and joy of Motorola's Android policy is its "MotoBlur" software -- an interface that pushes updates from contacts, emails and text messages along with postings and photos from Facebook and Twitter into the device's home screen. So essentially, various contacts, messages and log-in information are backed up on a MotoBlur secure server, in such a way that you will be able to recover lost information with the entry of just a username and password. With this new technology, you will also be able to delete data from a lost or stolen handset distantly and will be able to locate the device through an online Web site. What could be better than a smartphone which can be tracked as well? According to Motorola the Cliq will hit the markets from T-Mobile in time for the holiday season.

The price information has not been made official as yet but the Company said it plans to unveil a second handset, for Verizon, in the coming weeks.
